Description of the job
Full-Time | Leadership Role | Client-Facing
Are you a technically strong bookkeeper with a passion for people and leadership- not just the day-to-day processing?
At Count Gold Coast, we’re more than an accounting and wealth management firm. We’re trusted advisors to family businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals who value meaningful partnerships and strategic guidance.
We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to lead and develop our growing bookkeeping team. This role is perfect for someone who is highly skilled in accounting software and bookkeeping fundamentals but is now ready to step away from day-to-day data entry to focus on managing people, nurturing client relationships, and driving process improvements.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Leading, mentoring and supporting our bookkeeping team to ensure timely and accurate client work.
Building strong, long-term relationships with clients - being their go-to advisor for bookkeeping matters.
Reviewing work, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Collaborating with our accounting and advisory teams to provide integrated support to clients.
Driving efficiency and system improvements across the bookkeeping function.
What You’ll Bring:
Significant bookkeeping experience, ideally in a public practice or client-facing role.
Solid understanding of Xero and related add-ons; experience with other cloud-based tools is a bonus.
Strong leadership skills and a passion for mentoring and developing others.
Excellent communication skills - you enjoy working closely with clients and understanding their businesses.
A proactive mindset with a focus on improvement, quality, and team success.
Why Count Gold Coast?
We’re an established firm on the Gold Coast and our culture offers a supportive, collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
We invest in our people - through professional development, flexible working, and a genuine team culture. Think team lunches, regular training, 9-day fortnight and flexi working hours.
You’ll be part of a growing firm where your contribution will be seen, heard and valued.
Ready to lead a team and make a real impact—not just balance the books?
