AgHaul is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team in Yatala, Queensland. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. You will be a key member of our maintenance and repair operations, ensuring our fleet remains in peak working condition. Based at our Yatala facility (QLD 4207), you will have the chance to develop your skills further whilst contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our operations.
Key responsibilities
Performing diagnostic testing and repairs on diesel engines and associated mechanical systems
Conducting routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid level checks
Identifying mechanical faults and developing cost-effective repair solutions
Stripping down and rebuilding engine components and systems
Testing repaired vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety and performance standards
Maintaining detailed records of maintenance and repair work completed
Adhering to all workplace health and safety requirements and protocols
Communicating effectively with team members and management regarding job progress and technical issues
What we're looking for
A recognised qualification in diesel mechanics or equivalent practical experience in a similar role
Proven experience working on diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems
Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities
Proficiency with mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Current driver's licence and ability to move vehicles when required
A solid understanding of workplace health and safety principles
Communication skills and reliability
