Revenue Services plays a key role in supporting the City's rating, billing and account management functions. We are a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering quality service, maintaining accurate financial records and continuously improving the way we work. About the role
As a Billing Officer, you'll provide essential administrative support across the City's rating, billing and account management functions. Your work will include processing applications, verifying and reconciling account information, preparing correspondence and supporting customers with billing and refund-related enquiries.
While this is not a traditional customer-facing role, you will regularly contact customers to obtain information relating to refunds and account matters. As such, you'll need to be comfortable engaging with customers professionally and confidently over the phone and in writing.
This is a temporary opportunity for up to six months, with the possibility of extension.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Has experience in financial administration, billing, accounts receivable, accounts administration or a similar environment.
- Is confident reconciling accounts and investigating discrepancies.
- Enjoys working with systems, data and detailed information.
- Communicates professionally and can build positive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Is proactive, adaptable and eager to learn new processes and systems.
- Takes initiative, looks for ways to improve processes and enjoys being part of a team.
- Can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
What you'll bring
- Certificate III in Accounts Administration or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Experience performing financial administrative functions and account reconciliation activities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- A customer-focused approach and confidence engaging with customers to resolve account and refund-related matters.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
