Sweep Marine Services Pty Ltd, a well-established marine cleaning and refinishing company located on the Gold Coast, is currently seeking multiple Qualified Painters to join the team. These are full-time, permanent positions.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Preparation of all surfaces such as steel, aluminium, wood and fiberglass substrates via removing or sanding old paint/wallpaper, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces sanding, abrasive or chemical methods
Preparation for paint or varnish application – example, selecting and preparing paints required, including colours, oils and tanning etc
Finishing, such as decorative surfaces and buffing, polishing (and where applicable) wallpapering
Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using required equipment
Dew point and moisture measurements
Corrosion identification and removal, Corrosion protective coatings
Two component epoxy paint application, Finish coat applications, Potable liners applications
High temperature engine enamel application
Assisting with and Supervising all aspects of training, set up, installation, operation, and pack down of Confined Space Entry and other High-Risk Activities.
Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labelling, containment, proper disposal, documentation etc.
Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Workplace Health & Safety Management.
Assist in the developments of Safe Work Method Statements and Standard Operating Procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will be required to hold the following qualifications
Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent)
Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role
A current Australian or International Drivers Licence
A current Confined Space Entry Certificate RIIWHS204D
